Dunno, just spitballin' here but some GOOD things to have would be the following: - More
micron headers for custom stuff, not sure if we have that actually.. the documentation is
thin.. something to read that doesn't print to the client.
- More micron headers in general.. how bout a clientHeight/clientWidth JS equiv? As fun as
it is to ideally want to be in an 80 character width situation many clients are far wider
and some dynamics could make for better markdown. Retooling the entirety of the web not
being what nomadnet is still needs to consider a few more tools from that toolbox.
- Compressed micron markdown, gzip out from server thru reticulum.. client decompresses..
simple, easy, save data. A gzip header would solve this problem and client handles
invalidation like usual. Could be automatically be authored, cache timeouts, everything like
that. Server/client grind in this regard is small, the transfer is optimized where it
matters.. in between A to B.
- Client "prefers" options inside clients to see if a server node has a lofi mode, for tiny
devices to use. Think like forum days when "lofiversion" used to exist with degraded a
feature set.. or mobile detection on the web. This could save load times and add conditions
that keep the network easier to manage. I don't think nomadnet should be aiming to be
completely lowest of lofi things as fun as that is. Must be realistic where interest and
inspiration can even be found if you adhere with too much absolutes in this regard.
- 3rd party plugins loader, for things like MicronPlus. I really like this package addon.
It's def cool for something in concept stages. I think people should be able to choose how
nomadnet builds. Networks should be allowed their special things. It's too early in
development as it is too hammer in hard where it *can* end up before you arrive a lot of
should've cuz of stubborness. If it unifies somewhere down the road, it does, if not, it was
inevitable but I can't see stifling the the technology NOW..especialy now, is a good idea.
